A day that changed everything.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Diary,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hate to say this, but I was born in the wrong generation. I\u2019m a girl who should\u2019ve taken over the world in the 2010s. In today\u2019s time, it\u2019s just not possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay, I know you\u2019re just a diary and can\u2019t talk, but I imagine you\u2019re wondering why I\u2019m saying all this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It started off as an ordinary day. I was eating a bar of chocolate and getting ready for my friend Maya\u2019s party, which we had to attend using 8-D\/VR goggles. I had buried myself in the pile of clothes on the top shelf of my cupboard, looking for something with galactic shades. Apparently, giving your robots a vacation ruins yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as I emptied the top shelf, my focus shifted from the outfit I couldn\u2019t find to the drawer I had just discovered. Everything else slipped from my mind. I opened it gently, expecting it to be empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After fourteen years of my life, my biggest regret is opening that drawer. It was so dusty it looked like it had a whole desert inside. Thanks to that, I sneezed my soul out five times. The old wooden drawer had no cleaning system and even if it did, I doubt it would\u2019ve worked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had to improvise and get a mini vacuum cleaner from the attic to de-desertify<\/em> the drawer. Once that was done, I found a stack of rusty brown sheets bound together. The first page read High School Diaries<\/strong> in a weird font like someone had written it by hand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I opened the book, I decided to check what else was inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will never believe what I found. Stuff that wouldn\u2019t even exist in your imagination\u2026 actually does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a packet of round, shiny discs<\/strong>, each labeled with a different decade in the same strange font. And next to it was a strange-looking device<\/strong> with a metal stick and a slot that matched the size of those discs.<\/p>\n\n\n

I picked the one labeled 2010s!<\/strong> and slid it into the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly, I heard strange audio clips: people talking about love, heartbreak, and their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlease don\u2019t stop the music, please don\u2019t stop the music…\u201d
\u201cDon\u2019t stop, make it pop, DJ blow my speakers up…\u201d
\u201cGimme gimme more\u2026\u201d
\u201cHit me baby one more time\u2026\u201d
\u201cYou can\u2019t make your mind mind mind mind mind\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Soon, I found myself singing and dancing<\/strong>, totally lost in the music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The party? I completely forgot about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time the music stopped, it was midnight<\/strong>, and the party was over. Maya\u2019s mom had caught her having fun, while grounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, all I want is for the world to start over and bring back the real music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing I need to do is share this with all my friends<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
