Architecture is the process of planning and constructing buildings with or without a cultural reference. With the changing era, architecture has continuously been changing too. Though the world has seen different types of architecture, there are many that not just surprised but shocked us too. And now when we think of modern architecture we imagine sleek buildings , great engineering\u00a0 with all the necessities dolled up for humans. But there are buildings which have dropped our jaws too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stone House, Portugal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Stone House is located in the Fate mountains of Portugal. It was built in 1974\u00a0 inspired by the\u00a0 Flintstones cartoon. It was built from two huge rocks, linked by a concrete mixture. It gives a prehistoric vibe and also became one of the finest tourist attractions in Portugal. The residence was initially used by the owners as a holiday destination. Surprisingly the building is two storeyed and also has a swimming pool in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dancing House, Czech Republic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This was designed by Vlado Miluni\u0107 in cooperation with Frank Gehry in 1992, and completed in 1996. Its deconstructivist style was controversial at the time because it stood out so much compared to the baroque, gothic and art nouveau buildings. Deconstructivism is a movement of postmodern architecture which appeared in the 1980s. It gives the impression of the fragmentation of the constructed building, commonly characterised by an absence of obvious harmony, continuity, or symmetry. This non-traditional building now serves as an office and also has a restaurant building above it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little Crooked House, Poland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This strange building house is actually a strange looking part of a shopping complex in Sopot of Poland. It was designed by Szotynscy and Zalesky in 2004, inspired by the styles of fairy tales. It also has glass doors and blue and green enameled shingles which illuminates at night. The place has the largest Polish and global companies of various industries from finance through health to media opened and still open their offices willingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lotus Temple, India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The building is shaped like a lotus in New Delhi, capital of India. The building belongs to the Bahai religion and was designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba. The free standing petals are the main attraction of this temple and the pond beside the temple makes a feeling like the temple is floating just like that of lotus flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atomium, Brussels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The building is an\u00a0 important place for international tourism and is a unique creation in the history of architecture and emblematic of the World fair in Brussels. The Atomium was constructed for the first post-war universal world exhibition and represents the faith one had in the power of\u00a0 science and moreover in nuclear power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
