Summer is my favourite season of the year, and June the perfect vacay month. Don\u2019t judge me for embracing Dilli ki garmi, <\/em>for I have a secret thirst-quencher to deal with it. Every year, Blogchatter\u2019s eBook Carnival has been my go-to place for an eclectic mix of digital books to give me company on slow, languorous afternoons. This year is no different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blogchatter e-library<\/a> is furnished with literary fiction, poetry, memoirs, non-fiction, motivational, culture and travel books, all available at the click of a button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am in the middle of this vast ocean at the moment, doing a lap a day since the past one week. Evidently, I dived into the pool of literary fiction and poetry first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first few downloads include \u2018Life With a Pinch of Salt\u2019 by Asfiya Rahman, \u2018Dharma Artha Kama Moksha\u2019 by Seethalakshmi, \u2018Turning Point- Unexpected Unfolds of Life\u2019 by Sanjuna SR, \u2018Aching Hearts\u2019 by Prasannakumary Raghavan, \u2018Happy Endings\u2019 by Suchita Agarwal, \u2018A Potpourri of Drabble\u2019 by Harshita Nanda, \u2018A Mother Who is Guilty for Falling Down\u2019 by Anuradha Shetty, \u2018Soft Strings of My Heart\u2019 by Roma Gupta Sinha, Tomichan Matheikal\u2019s \u2018Humpty Dumpty\u2019s 10 Hats\u2019 and \u2018Memories of My Father\u2019 by Jayanthi Manikandan.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tell you, that\u2019s not even half of the list! Interestingly, this time a Marathi short story collection \u2018Onjalbhar Prem<\/a>\u2019 by Aditya Sathe, is also a part of the Carnival. That\u2019s an additional treat for connoisseurs of the language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, I offer you a sneak peek into some of the books I\u2019ve enjoyed reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since poetry always entices me, my first read has been Dharma Artha Kama Moksha<\/a>, <\/em>a mellifluous assortment of candid poems with a raw, earthy flavour binding them to their roots. No, they aren\u2019t didactic. Only upfront and honest. On the other hand, if you are looking for slice of life poetry that resonates in its celebration of life and its learnings, cling on to Soft Strings of My Heart.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you an impatient reader? Well, in that case, A Potpourri of Drabble,<\/a> <\/em>will get you to the climax in a jiffy. These tales from everyday life pack a punch in few words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes you pick up a book? The blurb? Or, the first chapter? Maybe, the title? What if I say there\u2019s a book in the Blogchatter Library with an interesting title and an even more interesting (you may read hilarious) dedication. I\u2019m not revealing more than this. I love satire and a commentary on politics and I found both in the unputdownable Humpty Dumpty\u2019s 10 Hats. <\/a><\/em>Of course, the dedication takes the cake!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life With a Pinch of Salt<\/a> <\/em>is an engaging collection of flash pieces and short stories that made me fall in love with life all over again. As the blurb rightly says, life isn\u2019t meant to be perfect. But the stories in this book make you smile right through its imperfections. As they say, there\u2019s so much to read and so little time. This has never been truer than now, with Blogchatter teeming with books. The fiction and poetry sections have kept the flag flying high and as I move over to my next read, Happy Endings<\/a>, <\/em>I can\u2019t stop recommending these books. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best part is that they are free and easy to download. So, get ready to dive right in! Find your next read. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paradoxical though it may sound, she seeks written words to embrace silence (her constant pursuit of a Zen life). Some of them become poetry, written on the blog or appearing in books to be read someday. She likes to begin her day by reading a poem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonia writes other stuff too (some flashes in the pan and made-up tales; raves and rants) that you will find on her blog<\/a> and few other online spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
