Day 4 at The Jaipur Literature Festival came along with a plethora of sessions ranging from language, history, caste, children, art and books, to name just a few. It was a day of meeting critically acclaimed authors and getting to know their point of views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diving into the importance of Blue Economy- Sanjeev Sanyal and Martin Puchner and C Raja Mohan spoke about the need for sustainability while learning from the coastal communities for best practices. Suraj Yengde in conversation with Surinder S Jodhka discussed his book \u2013 Caste Matters <\/em>bringing out the caste dynamics in political life and by narrating his own experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another conversation, Ruth Harris expounded the life of Swami Vivekananda through her work- Guru to the World. With the amalgamation of religion, science and politics, she emphasized on the biography bringing out legacy and impact of Swami Vivekananda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About his latest book- The Magician of Mazda, Ashwin Sanghi with Manjiri Prabhu discussed the lesser known Parsi history and left us intrigued about his novel, being a mix of thriller and cultural exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A burning topic of geopolitical importance was Luke Harding\u2019s \u2013 Invasion giving us an insight into the Russian war on Ukraine and his first-hand experience while reporting on ground. The chilling narration kept the audience hooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katy Hessel in conversation with Alex von Tunzelmann spoke about \u2018Art Without Men\u2019 and need for smashing patriarchy in the arena of art and history. She mentioned a number of woman artists and their importance in history. In another history heavy conversation, historian and economist Sanjeev Sanyal and Tripurdaman Singh spoke about Revolutionaries- emphasizing on the parallel struggle for freedom through the efforts of spies, assassins and violent revolutionaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day ended with beautiful poetry renditions by Ananda Devi, Era Tak, K Satchidanandan and Jerry Pinto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summation, Jaipur Literature Festival 2023 was a thrilling experience and I have come back a more enriched person. These days ended in a jiffy and left us craving for more. JLF brought together people from various backgrounds and walks of life, united by their thirst for knowledge and love for books. Book bloggers from across India met and rejoiced their love for reading. Writers, readers, networking, collaborations and a supportive community is what JLF is all about, and I am really grateful for that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
