Books always occupy a special place in our hearts and of course our homes. They are the decorative pieces that we collect wherever we go. They’re like old friends that we can turn to when we need a pick-me-up or a distraction from reality. And God! Let’s not forget about the smell of a book – it’s like a secret potion that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

But that’s not it. There is an endless list of things that we love about reading books or the feeling of having one in our hands. Call us anti-social, doesn’t matter because our world is equally beautiful.

The Battle of Choosing the right one

Yes, of course here we mean our soulmate AKA books. The process that goes behind choosing the right one after tons of rejections is not easy. The external factors that affect our decisions are endless. It starts with the cover, recommendations from fellow bookworms, our favorite authors to life-altering situations that affect our mood swings. It gets worse, when you are part of a book club or following bookstagrammers, or worse your plans for the week or a month change. Yes, that’s right we like to be well prepared in advance. *Strategists* It is as tough as choosing a good school for a kid. Here are some people from our herd who share the same emotions as many bibliophiles.

Then Comes the Rollercoaster Ride

After going through hell and back, we do select a book to read but it isn’t easy as well. The fate of the reading experience determines our mood in the future. You see a lot of things in life are at stake because of the book we picked. So, it is crucial that it is at least good. A bare minimum right? The character, story, narrative, plot twists everything contributes to a good reading experience. Even if there is a slight mismatch we are done.

And not to mention the ending or the Climax. It just needs to be perfect and apt for the story. So, it is most likely a do-or-die situation. Not convinced? You finish a book, and you feel like you’ve just said goodbye to a dear friend. But fear not, my fellow bookworms! There is a solution to this heartache: rereading. Rereading books is like reuniting with an old friend. You already know the characters, the plot, and the ending (hopefully). It’s like a cozy blanket of familiarity that you can wrap yourself in whenever you need a literary hug. So don’t be ashamed to reread your favorite books. They’re like comfort food for the soul. Just don’t let your TBR pile get too big. 😉

But sometimes, have you noticed yourself picking up a book that is too out of your taste?
