Being a published author is the dream for many of us who write. Yes, it sure does take a lot of hard work to get your book published, but getting a book published is just the beginning of a journey. There is a lot of work to do even after your book is published. The ultimate aim of an author after getting his/her book published is to make the book reach to a lot of people. There are a lot of ways to do that. One of the most important medium to help your book reach a larger audience is Goodreads.

In case you don’t already know, Goodreads is a social network for books. It connects readers and authors. As a reader, you can add the books you have read and in the process discover other books of the same kind. You can read reviews of books that you want to buy, you can recommend books to your friends and also you can enter giveaways!

Now think about all of this from the author’s perspective.

Yes, there are a lot of things that you can do on Goodreads as an author. Goodreads has program specifically designed to help authors. It is called Goodreads Author Program. The advantages of the author’s program are many. It helps you connect with your readers in various ways. As a part of the program you can promote your books in different ways. You can host giveaways, connect your blog to Goodreads so that your readers are updated about the various things you write, you can interact with readers by taking questions. And yes, it is the readers reviews that matter the most. The Goodreads Author Program also gives you the stats of your books.

A lot of things right?
