With epic shows like Mahabharat and Ramayan coming back on screen again, we all would have surely taken a stroll down memory lane and dreamed of all the shows that made us laugh and smile. There’s no denying that many of them are priceless and they did make our screen time worthwhile. #WorldLaughterDay maybe is the perfect time for a throwback to some of those shows we can’t forget!

#WorldLaughterDay
It;s #WorldLaughterDay – do you need more reasons to laugh

Boy Genius Dexter

The ones with siblings can definitely understand the humorous plight of Dexter, the little genius, his giant laboratory, and the never ending bugging by his sister Dee Dee. All the fun lies in their relationship! Also, what was with his heavy accent when he came from an American family?

Ed, Edd and Eddy

Now, this is a tricky one. All these kids did was roam around their cul de sac and try to trick other kids into giving them money to buy candy. Each of them had a different coloured tongue if you remember. They had absolutely brilliant plans that failed every single time.

Looney Tunes

Did the title song of this show start playing in your head the moment you read this? We’re humming it as we type. Bugs Bunny, Elmur, Daffy Duck, Coyote, Tasmanian Devil, Road Runner never failed to give us chuckles. The baby versions of them were super cute. Beep Beep! Is that a yes?

Scooby Doo

Didn’t everyone just love this show and the many versions of it! Scooby and Shaggy’s friendship is just adorable and every episode with the rest of the gang, Daphne, Velma and Fred had one of a kind stories. All the mysteries seemed supernatural at first but had a meddling human behind it. Who else found Scrappy Doo a wee bit annoying?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Now, did they make turtles cool or what! Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello showed us that being geeks is super awesome. They are named after famous Italian renaissance artists and are also trained in the art of ninjutsu. Art and science fiction, a recipe for awesomeness?

Johnny Bravo

Don’t be fooled by those muscles. We all know his biceps were made of letters from the Cartoon Network icon! This was probably one of the first shows for us that had pop culture references. Do you remember if he EVER got any girl to fall for him with all that show off?

Rugrats

A world from the perspective of diaper clad babies. Don’t we all want to see that? This was quite a popular show featuring the adventures of Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Phil and Lil. Oh, the adventures were just day to day activities in which the babies knew it all and adults were clueless. Lot of truth in there.

Gummi Bears

Kind and gentle anthropomorphic bears who lived inside a hollow tree, they had magical powers and were way ahead of humans. The Gummi Glen they lived in had complex tunnels and rooms, but always looked so cosy. They grew gummiberries and made some sort of powerful juice out of them. We always wondered what that tasted like and how it would help us when we had sibling wars.

We could go on and on about the shows that made childhood beautiful. These are just a few. Each one is sure to bring back some memories, different for all of us, but #WorldLaughterDay is an opportunity recall the very entertaining 90s. What more shows could you add to this list? Maybe comment it or tweet to us and let’s reminisce today 🙂 Aand did any of these shows make you want to binge watch something from the 90’s?
