This story by Yutika is one of the two winning entries of a writing contest conducted for Blogchatter’s Junior Writers Group.
I was on my way to school when I saw the sun glowing in a bright orange colour. The flowers in the backyard of the school had freshly bloomed. Students were heading to their classes.
But this wasn’t just any ordinary school. This was a magical school.
There were different classes to learn all kinds of magic. They even taught students how to ride unicorns. In fact, every student had their own unicorn to ride! This school was truly unique and very special.
Nearby, there was a magical wonderland called Mesblue. The magic there was real. There were ancient magical objects, and the walls were filled with old writings, like those from the ruler of Mesblue.
The wonderland had the Keeper of Unicorns, flying horses, magical bunnies, mermaids, water pools, and underwater stones with secret magic words carved into them. Some creatures were kind, while others were evil, but it was hard to tell who was who.
Since the school was far away from home, there were rooms for everyone to stay. Each unicorn had a different kind of magic, and they got their powers from magical water.
At the school, we had different teachers for every subject. The buildings were made from beautiful marbles and stones. The food was also different: waffles for breakfast, sandwiches in the afternoon, burgers and rice for dinner.
The school often planned trips for us. The school bus took us to different wonderlands nearby. And this wasn’t just any bus… It could fly! It was painted a beautiful golden colour with shades of white and light pink. On the way, I saw wonderful creatures, birds, animals, and many magical things.

This was the most wonderful experience I’ve ever had. The moment I saw the school for the first time, I knew it was something special. I loved everything: the unicorn rides, the flying bus trips, the stories of wonderlands.
This school was the best. The teachers were amazing and kind. It felt like a home away from home. I just wish we had a school like this near our homes. Then everyone could experience its magic!
