Bangalore Nagaratnamma
This post is a brief narrative of the colourful life of Vidyasundari Bangalore Nagaratnamma, an ardent feminist and a great Carnatic musician, who fought fiercely for equal opportunites for all artistes and musicians irrespective of gender, at a time when the world of Carnatic Music was heavily misogynist and victorian in outlook. She bravely fought for the rights of the Devadasis, and all women. This post features three events from Bangalore Nagaratnamma's life, that serve as a shining example of her grit, perseverance and strength.
