It's biological name is Simmondsia chinensis and is also known as deer nut, oat nut, wild hazel, and coffee berry. It's a grey-green shrub belonging to Simmondsiaceae family. It was firstly the Spanish missionaries of the 18th and 19th centuries identifying the importance of Jojoba.
