Zero: India’s Greatest Contribution to the World - Neerja's Musings
The concept of zero as a numeral and placeholder emerged in India between the 5th and 7th centuries CE. The earliest recorded use of zero in its modern numerical form appeared in inscriptions found at the Gwalior temple in Madhya Pradesh, dating to the 9th century CE. However, its origins go even further back.
