Thank You, Dad

Dear Dad,
It’s Father’s Day, which means the world is celebrating all the wonderful things fathers have done for their kids. Well, shouldn’t we be thankful for our dads every day, if not every minute, I wonder. But then, I realize. Not everyone is blessed to have a Dad like you.
There are many who have never experienced a father who always shows up, no matter what. To give a call every single day, without fail. To simply be interested in their kid’s life. To know what is happening with us, in our mundane day. To experience that feeling of a father who is willing to take responsibility and accountability is rare.
So, that is why I thank you for just being there… in my life.
There are infinite sacrifices that you have done for us, your kids. Many I may not even understand now- be it working late, or even giving up your dreams of buying a brand new car. But your unwavering love has taught me valuable life lessons; that no matter what, to keep my head high and work with integrity and relentless dedication.
I cherish and treasure all the memories I have with you, something as simple as pillion riding on your bike, playing badminton, walking our dog and all those late-night conversations over the phone. I know I can count on you for so many things, Dad. And to be able to feel that way, I know I am blessed. Truly.
You are my one true hero and I will always feel that way.
So, thank you again for being there… for showing up.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad.
With all my love,
