Alipura by Gyan Chaturvedi, originally written in Hindi as Baramasi, is an English translation by Salim Yusufji. The book primarily tells the story of a family living in a village named Alipura, a district of Jhansi. An omniscient narrator tells us the story of the family with its necessary background and sub-plots. The author has the wont of explaining all the scenes down to each miniscule detail.
