The Hippie Island of Hampi was Demolished this year! Should Travelers Still Visit it?
The island got demolished due to a supreme court order passed this February that said any establishments without a license issued by the state government from this part of the land to be demolished as they were on a land that could have historical significance.
The Hippie Island shacks, guesthouses and shops are all gone, but the sunset point, sanapur lake and more such attractions are still there.
And after visiting Hampi thrice, I feel it is absolutely worth the visit even if the shops were demolished!
Hampi trip is incomplete without soaking in the other side of the river as well!
